What You’ll Learn
- Roles & Responsibilities: Understand the duties and legal obligations of a TCP.
- Traffic Control Plans: Learn to interpret and implement plans effectively.
- Temporary Traffic Control Devices: Familiarize yourself with signs, cones, barriers, and other equipment.
- Work Zone Safety: Ensure the safety of workers and the public within active zones.
- Communication Skills: Develop effective methods for directing traffic and coordinating with team members.
- Practical Application: Engage in real-world scenarios to apply learned skills.
Course Logistics
- Assessment: Pass a written knowledge exam (minimum 80%) and a practical evaluation (100%).
- Certification: Upon successful completion, receive a TCP Record of Completion card valid for 3 years.
- Prerequisites: Participants should possess good vision, hearing, alertness, and a sense of responsibility.
- Required Gear: Government-issued photo ID, CSA-approved steel-toed boots with ankle protection, weather-appropriate clothing, and a pen/highlighter.
