Quolus Construction is currently seeking Construction Safety Officers (CSOs) who bring specialized safety expertise to multi-residential developments. Whether working on low-rise wood frame or high-rise concrete projects, CSOs ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and maintain safe job sites.
Core Duties
- First Aid: Administer advanced first aid, stabilize serious injuries, and refer patients for further medical assistance.
- Documentation: Complete first aid forms and patient assessment charts.
- Safety Orientation: Conduct site safety orientations for all personnel.
- Hazard Assessment: Perform workplace hazard assessments and enforce safety standards (regulatory and site-specific).
- Safety Oversight: Maintain first aid rooms and equipment in a clean, organized, and sterile condition.
- Training: Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Inspections & Investigations: Conduct inspections, drills, and workplace investigations.
- Site Safety: Build and implement safety barriers and equipment and ensure compliance across job sites.
- Leadership: Coordinate secondary CSOs and other safety personnel, delegating tasks as required.
- Site Oversight: Manage safety on large, complex, and high-hazard construction sites.
Specialty Duties
- Injury Assessment: Evaluate injuries and illnesses and determine appropriate responses.
- Client Services: Act as a point of contact for clients and assist with coordination such as timesheets.
- Planning: Create and implement site-specific safety plans.
- Leadership: Support coordination and direction of safety teams on large-scale projects.
- High-Risk Oversight: Ensure safety compliance on complex and high-risk construction environments.
Job Requirements
- Basic physical fitness to respond to emergencies.
- Minimum 1 year of construction OFA experience.
- Proficient verbal and written English.
- High school diploma.
- Occupational First Aid Level 3 (Advanced).
- Fall Protection certification.
- WSBC-accredited CSO/NCSO designation.
- Supervising for Safety certification.
- Ability to commit to full-time employment.
- Must own and maintain standard PPE.
