Horizon Construction Workforce is a leading construction workforce supplier based in the thriving city of Calgary, Alberta.
Horizon Construction is currently seeking Lane Technicians / TCPs (Traffic Control Persons) to read and interpret traffic control plans, lead crews, and manage safe traffic flow on active construction sites. This role involves coordinating work zones, ensuring safety compliance, and managing traffic control setups.
Core Duties
- Traffic Control: Direct traffic in and around construction sites in accordance with approved traffic control plans.
- Coordination: Work collaboratively with the TCP team to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow.
- Planning: Develop and clearly explain traffic control plans to team members and stakeholders.
- Setup & Removal: Install and dismantle traffic control equipment.
- Site Support: Facilitate deliveries and site access safely and efficiently.
- Communication: Maintain clear and calm communication with the public, drivers, delivery personnel, and site staff.
- Leadership: Lead and support TCP teams when required.
Other Potential Specialty Duties
- Lane Technician Work: Perform duties associated with Lane Technician accreditation as required.
Job Requirements
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Intermediate verbal English.
- Minimum 2 years of TCP experience on construction sites.
- Experience with higher-density projects is considered an asset.
- BCCSA-accredited TCP certification.
- WHMIS certification.
- Lane Control Technician certification.
- Ability to commit to full-time employment.
- Must have own tools and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Must own and maintain standard PPE.
