Horizon Construction Workforce is a leading construction workforce supplier based in the thriving city of Calgary, Alberta.
Horizon Construction is currently seeking Deficiency Technicians/Detailers who will be ensuring new homes are free of deficiencies and ready for homeowners to move in. The right candidate should have a strong construction background and be comfortable dealing with a variety of different tasks.
Core Duties
- Silicon & Caulking
- Drywall: Sanding, patching, light out repairs, pinhole repairs, plug, California, or butterfly patching.
- Painting: Cutting in, taping, doors & trim, rolling, back-rolling, blending, and touch-ups.
- Mechanical: Hardware installation (handles/fixtures), basic adjustments, interior doors (hallway, lock sets, hinges), exterior doors (lock sets), cabinet door adjustments, and door installations (hanging) including bi-folds.
- Inspections: Unit inspections, testing, and tagging.
- Leadership: Supervising a team when required.
Other Potential Specialty Duties:
- Countertop & cabinet surface repairs (e.g., Mohawk)
- Bath tub & other enamel surface repairs (e.g., Tub Doctor)
Job Requirements
- 5 years of deficiency technician/detailer experience in multi-residential construction.
- Must be able to commit to full-time employment.
- Strong eye for detail, with the ability to multi-task and stay organized.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have your own tools and reliable transportation to commute to and from job sites.
- Must own standard PPE.
